It has been an absolute honour for me to have been Lady Captain for the second time around. The year has been a very busy one both on and off the golf course. We have enjoyed plenty of competitions and more friendly matches this year than we have had in quite a while. The Ladies Open was another roaring success and I hope this continues into the future. The monthly competitions with the Ladies section and the Senior section has also been well attended by both sides and enjoyed by all. Long may this continue. The year ahead continues to have a very full diary of events and competitions and I hope these will be supported by all members, new and old. A must thank the Ladies Committee for their help and support during my year of Captaincy and I hope Tina receives just as much support and help as I did. It certainly makes life as captain easier with a great team behind you. I wish you all the best for the year ahead. Nicki Turbayne |
2018 saw some great successes for the ladies section. During Captain's Week, Yvonne Husband won the Captain's Plate and Alison Pedder won the Captain's Rosebowl. I was fortunate enough to win the Captain's Cup. The Club Championship which is held over two days saw Lorraine Fox win best Nett with myself winning the best Gross score.
Some ladies have been lucky enough to represent the county this year, which is always something to be immensely proud of. Northants County second team captain is no other than our own Tracy Bishop who will be continuing in this role for 2019. I was lucky enough to be picked to represent the team and played at Rugby Golf Club where we won the match overall and I contributed by winning both my foursomes and singles match. We also have ladies who are involved in the Vet's County team which was also captained by Tracy. Well done to Pat Ward, Harriett Deller and Sue Simpson who all represented the County Vet's Team this year. |
