Apologies for Missing June’s activities and I will be including all comps in this newsletter. First, I would say in June we had captain’s week which was fantastic and we raised about £450 for the Air Ambulance, then sadly it was shut down fortnight for the GP. Back to golf in July with still no rain, the course is drying out with the Silverstone bounce coming into play more than ever. Please remember we are a self-sustainable golf course as far as water is concerned and yes, the tee boxes are suffering and the fairways are as brown and dry as they have ever been, but the greens are in excellent condition so hats off to the green keepers for that. Remember, we have a smoking ban on the course at the moment and until the rain comes, I can’t see this being lifted.
Club Championship weekend was a strongly fought contest with some great golf being played and very well attended with 94 starters, my thanks to all the committee members for organising and running the competition.
